*Rainmaker pockets Bad Money
Vancouver’s Rainmaker is working on a full slate of features, series and MOWs. Among the features: Daydrift from Jet Set Productions, Dark Summer out of Dark Summer/Credo Entertainment, Exiles from Exiles Productions, Illusions Entertainment’s Question of Privilege and The Arrangement, Bad Money from Security Films and Paramount’s Double Jeopardy.
On the MOW side, Rainmaker has turned it talents to Future Films’ Dreamhouse, The Jack Bull from Tub Weller/HBO, Don’t Look Down from Phobia Productions, Max Q from Jerry Bruckheimer Productions, Sipes Versus McGhee from PMP/Universal and Captivity from USA Network/Universal.
Rainmaker is also working on the Sugar Entertainment series First Wave, Dead Man’s Gun and Too Weird as well as Alliance’s Welcome to Paradox, Crescent Entertainment’s The Crow and MGM’s The Outer Limits, Poltergeist and Stargate SG1.
Also in the shop is Millennium from 20th Century Fox, Keatley MacLeod Films/Atlantis’ Cold Squad, PolyGram’s Ghost Cop, Strange Days from TCFTV Productions and Highlander – The Raven from Firecorp Productions.
Rainmaker also recently delivered DVD title Super Speedway – The DVD.
*C.O.R.E. hits New Jersey Turnpikes
Toronto’s C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures is undertaking work for Universal feature New Jersey Turnpikes and for Springall Pictures’ Santitos.
The shop is also working on Decode/ Henson series Brats of the Dark Nebula, Atlantis’ Earth the Final Conflict and Psi Factor as well as Disney movie Murder She Purred.
*CP/T hosts Superstar
Toronto’s Command Post/Toybox is doing motion-control shooting, 3D animation and compositing for Alliance’s eXistenZ and visual effects compositing for Superstar. The shop recently completed 3D animation, compositing and 2D paint effects work on Midwinter/Universal’s Bride Of Chucky.
CP/T is also doing visual effects on series Mercy Point from Mandalay Entertainment/Columbia TriStar and for Salter Street’s Lexx: The Dark Zone.
*Exhuming Mr. Rice at Gajdecki
At Toronto/Vancouver-based Gajdecki Visual Effects, visual effects supervisor Jon Campfens and the team are working on futuristic cityscapes for Alliance series Total Recall 2070. Campfens is also supervising Shaftesbury Films’ Jacob Two Two Meets the Hooded Fang.
Also at Gajdecki: Alliance MOW Loving Evangeline with digital effects coordinator Tracey Hollinrake; MGM’s Stargate SG1, recently picked up for four more seasons; Shavick Entertainment’s The Addams Family series; and Night World, a series of MOWs from UPN/Alliance filmed in Luxembourg, with Tom Turnbull as visual effects supervisor.
Visual effects supervisor David Axford is working at Gajdecki on Future Films’ MOW Mission to Mars; Bruce Turner is visual effects supervisor on Exhuming Mr. Rice, a feature from New City Productions starring David Bowie; and Joel Skeete is supervising Disney/Alliance series The Famous Jett Jackson.
The shop is also working on the Rainfall Productions MOW Storm of the Century and is finishing off work on Midwinter/Universal’s Bride of Chucky, both service projects.
*Northwest takes on Zenon
The artists at Northwest Imaging & FX are currently working on Disney’s Zenon, Girl of the 21st Century, MGM’s Stargate SG1 series, The Duke from International Keystone Entertainment, YTV’s Twisteria, Nightman from Nightman Productions and The Addams Family through Gajdecki Visual Effects. Also in the shop is Discovery’s Lost Warriors and Ranfilm Productions’ Shegalla.
