Canadian Academy adds six members to its board of directors

The group includes executives at CBC, YouTube and Universal Films Canada.

Six members have been added to the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television’s (Canadian Academy) board of directors.

Fennella Bruce, the founder of FKB Media Solutions and FKB Media Productions is among the new members, as well as Canadian actor Amanda Brugel (Infinity Pool) and Ashley Crawford, partner, assurance at PwC Canada. Crawford is now the treasurer for the board of directors.

Rounding out the newest members is Jason Fulsom, SVP and GM of film distribution at Universal Films Canada; Andrew Peterson, head of Canada at YouTube; and Trish Williams, executive director of scripted content at CBC.

Outgoing directors who have completed their terms are Jennifer Dettman, CBC’s executive director of unscripted content; communications veteran Scott Henderson; and Anita McOuat, PwC Canada’s national assurance leader. Henderson served on the board of directors as secretary while McOuat served as treasurer.

The Canadian Academy’s board of directors, is now 19 members strong. Lindsey Scully, Netflix Canada’s head of PR, who joined the board of directors in 2021, is the current secretary.
