The Canadian Television Policy Review public hearings have been extended once again. The hearings will kick off Sept. 23 and may not end now until Oct. 15.

The hearings will now include Saturday sessions and extra time so that the crtc ‘may give appropriate consideration to the important policy issues raised in the comments it has received as part of this proceeding.’

Shareholders overwhelmingly approved the merger of Alliance Communications and Atlantis Communications last week as outgoing chairman and ceo Robert Lantos chaired his final annual general meeting.

While taking care of the meeting’s business, Lantos individually thanked each one of Alliance’s senior executives, with special kudos for longtime friend and business partner Victor Loewy, who will remain with the new company.
