With the September crtc hearings looming, ctv, Global Television Network and tva, will team up to showcase their Canadian programming before an audience of policy makers at a gala event at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre June 15.

The private nets’ agenda of gaining access to government funding will no doubt serve as a backdrop to a ‘Let Us Entertain You’ party. ‘As our industry becomes more complex, government decisions will play an increasingly important role,’ says Jim Sward, ceo of Global and chairman of the event. ‘We want to create this opportunity to give policy makers a strong understanding of our business and the key role they play.’

The event will also feature an array of live performers, contortionists, acrobats and psychics that will undoubtedly mirror the broadcast posturing and lobbying that will take place at the unprecedented shmooze fest.
