Behind the loss of Mary Pat Gleeson, vp of marketing and releasing, and Anna Maria Mucilli, vp of publicity and promotions, Alliance Communications and Tony Cianciotta, senior vp and gm, releasing, have parted ways.

Word has it Cianciotta filed his resignation Sept. 30.

David Fincher’s The Game, the first film from PolyGram Filmed Entertainment’s Canadian distrib arm, has generated $3.7 million (as of Sept. 28) on 209 screens since its Sept. 12 opening.

Colin Firth has signed on to star in the Paragon/HandMade feature film The Secret Laughter of Women. The Secret Laughter is an Elba Films/Paragon coproduction. The feature will shoot over seven weeks in Europe beginning this month.
