Several Canadian series are among the unscripted titles added to Blue Ant Studios’ MIPCOM slate for 2024.
The company’s rights division has added more than 20 new series to its slate, according to a news release. Genres include crime, history, nature, wildlife and environment, as well as formats and factual entertainment.
Blue Ant is repping three unscripted titles from Canadian indie producers. First is Shared Planet (4 x 60 minutes) from Vancouver-based River Road Films. The series focuses on untold stories of people and wildlife. Then there’s Cub Camp (6 x 60 minutes) from Winnipeg’s Merit Motion Pictures, which visits Black Bear Rescue in Manitoba.
Last is Hope for Wildlife: The Next Generation (8 x 60 minutes), from Halifax’s Arcadia Entertainment. The series focuses on the work undertaken at animal rehabilitation centres.
Original Blue Ant Studios productions added to its slate is Northwoods Survival (8 x 60 minutes, pictured), about a diverse group of people as they embark on a four-season mission to build a life in Canada’s northern landscape; and T+E and Haunt TV’s My Haunted Hometown (8 x 60 minutes), following a road trip through seemingly idyllic small towns in North America, with three paranormal witnesses per episode.
The studio will also be presenting a number of returning shows, including season four of Saloon Media’s Mysteries from Above (8 x 60 minutes), the fourth season of Marblemedia’s Race Against the Tide (10 x 30 minutes), season two of Brown Bob Productions’ Big Little Crimes (15 x 30 minutes) and the seventh season of Owl Power’s Gone Fishing (8 x 30 minutes & 2 x 60 minutes).
Also included are season two of Mint Pictures’ Great Australian Walks (10 x 60 minutes), season 17 of Friel Kean Films’ Money for Nothing (20 x 60 minutes), the third season of Wildlife Entertainment’s Wildlife ER (6 x 60 minutes) and season two of Beach House Pictures’ Neu Earth (2 x 60 minutes).
