Lacewood has two new animated specials hitting the market which will likely head into production late winter.
The Ghost Fiddler of Sable Island, being developed in association with Family Channel, is furthest along in the prepro race. Original fiddle tunes from Ashley MacIsaac will accompany the story of a young girl who nurses a sick pony back to health with the aid of a phantom fiddler.
Lacewood prez Sheldon Wiseman says they’re at the scripting stage on The Glorious Silver Hanukah Menorah, the first animated coproduction under the Canada/Isreal treaty. The half-hour special will be produced with Argo Films of Tel Aviv. It is Argo’s first animated project, and while the divvying up of work has yet to be done, lead producer Lacewood expects some of the animation will be done in Israel.
