SPY Films’ Gord McWatters has three spots lined up for Good Humor through MacLaren McCann. The two- or three-day shoot is set to happen in early May with a yet-to-be-determined dop. Pete Henderson picked up three studio days for a Dentyne cinema spot, with dop Doug Koch.
April has brought Magic’s Derek Case nine days of food shoots. Having completed shoots for French’s Honey Mustard through Stringer Veroni Ketchum and kfc through Ogilvy & Mather, he’s also picked up two days for Schneiders through Ongoing Partnership. Coming up, he’ll shoot five days for Kraft, a day for Wal-Mart through smw, and a day for East Side Mario’s through Stringer Veroni Ketchum. Mid-month, Ted Parkes directed a day for dare, an anti-drug campaign, and a day for Mary Brown Chicken.
Philip Kates of Radke Films picked up a day for Visine through Taxi, with Andre Pienaar the dop and Daily Post’s Chris Van Dyke editing. Peter Goldschmidt and dop Paul Cameron have picked up a job for gm through MacLaren McCann. Two days have already been shot, with three more scheduled for better weather, probably in June. At The Players Film Company, the team of director David McNally and dop Nixon Binney picked up two days of Head & Shoulders through Tatham Euro rscg, to be edited by Barry McMann at Third Floor.
Director/cameraman Henry Less wrapped three days for Premier Dairies through McCann Erickson in Dublin, Ireland, and two days for Yokohama through Griffin Bacal Volny. Less was also behind the camera on a 30-second spot directed by Glen Schultz for Panasonic through DDB Needham. Third Floor’s McMann handled post.
In Toronto, Apple Box’s California-based director/cameraman John Le Blanc has completed three 30-second spots for Ford Dealers through y&r/fmda. The shoot took place in Edmonton and the spots were posted by Peer Engelhardt at Reel Ideas. In Vancouver, director Philip Spink teamed with dop John Houtman for a day to shoot a spot for Trolli Gummis (Gummi candies) through Sive y&r in Cincinnati. Post Haste’s Jane Morris Berry will edit.
Mid-month was busy at Avion, with a total of seven days for four directors. Director/cameraman Matthew Harris shot two days for Sprint through Grey New York and John Zurik and dop Stan Mestel picked up two days on location in Vancouver for Midas through Ogilvy & Mather.
Director Warren Sulatycky and dop George Morita shot two days for Boost through Mead Johnson. Morita was also the dop on Martin Granger’s one-day shoot for Harvey’s through Ambrose Carr.
In Montreal, Marc Grenier of La Fabrique d’Images picked up four days: one with dop Pierre Gill for Aliments Delisle through Saint-Jacques Valle Young & Rubicam, and three with dop Jean-Pierre Trudel for Maxi through Groupe Everest. Jean-Francois Pouliot picked up two days with dop Steve Danyluk for Bell Canada through Cossette, and Jacques Fournier shot two days for gm with dop Adam Kimmel, also through Cossette.
