Global is bullish with the overnights for Traders, which premiered Thursday Feb. 1 at 10 p.m.
According to A.C. Nielsen’s Toronto/Hamilton overnight ratings, Traders scored a 4.7 rating with the 18-49 audience, meaning that of all viewers in the area between the ages 18-49, 4.7% were watching the program.
The numbers were higher amongst men 18-49, registering a 6.5, and men 25-54 at 5.9. Overall viewers 18+ rang in at 4.6, 25-54 at 4.5, and 55+, 5.4.
It’s in a tough slot but ‘it’s a solid start and we’re happy to open the champagne with those numbers,’ says Doug Hoover, national vp programming and promotions for Global.
Murder One made its final showing in the er-dominated time slot with a 6.0 rating of viewers 18+, Nov. 16.
While the Traders debut is solid, it isn’t the Jan. 28 apres Superbowl Friends special. According to Hoover, the 30.6% rating in the 18-49 category is the highest ever for a Global program, surpassing the Cheers series finale, which previously held first place.
