– Atlantis Communications has new productions in the works, including a new pilot and a possible feature film.

Cold Squad, developed between Atlantis and Keatley Films of Vancouver, features an innovative female cop who solves shelved or ‘cold’ crimes. u.s. broadcaster is Lifetime Network and Canadian broadcaster is t.b.a.

Borrowed Hearts, a romantic comedy which might be headed for cinemas, is being developed by Earl and Pamela Wallace, the team who wrote Witness.

– David Winning has just wrapped photography on his third feature, a multiple murder thriller called The Fifth Season. The feature, which stars Lance Henriksen (Powder, Aliens), Joan Severance (Wiseguy) and martial arts expert Jeff Wincott (Night Heat), is produced by Vancouver’s Shavick Entertainment in association with Saban Entertainment and Prism Pictures of l.a.

– Genie Award-winning actor David La Haye (L’Enfant d’eau) is the lead in a 30-minute dramatic short called The Big World, shot in Montreal under the direction of Alfonso Maiorana the last two weeks in January.

Maiorana and producer Christina Fon of Rubee Films, a small house established in ’93, are also developing a feature called The Last Trombone Player.
