The London International Advertising Awards were presented to 139 winners in television/cinema, radio, print and package design categories Nov. 13.
Canadian winners in the tv arena included the best psa campaign and best original music with lyrics.
The psa-winning Salvation Army pool, created by BBDO Toronto’s Larry Toplin, Stephen Creet and Michael McLaughlin and produced by Marie Robertson, was done through Sincinkin Productions. George Pastik was director/ dop. Tracks were from Jungle Music.
The music nod went to Steve Webster and Ted Rosnick of Rosnick MacKinnon for a Coke ‘Live’ spot created by Steve Blair, Andrew Anthony, Lara Palmer and Franca Piacente of McCann-Erickson, Toronto. The spot, produced by Suzanne Allen for The Partners’ Film Company, was directed by Kevin Donovan, shot by Andre Pienaar and Paul Goldsmith, and edited by David Hicks.
The grand prize went to a Levi 501 Drugstore spot directed by Michel Gondry of Partizan/Midi Minuit, London, Eng. for Bartle Bogle Hegarty. Best campaign went to Little Caesars Pizza and Cliff Freeman & Partners of New York for the ‘Training Camp,’ ‘Focus Group’ and ‘Singing Babies’ spots produced by Propaganda Films, Crossroad Films and Harmony Pictures – all l.a.
This, the 10th edition of these awards, garnered over 11,647 entries from 70 countries.
