The Canadian Film Centre is expected to announce renewal of the Feature Film Project April 25. Major sponsors behind the first round of the two-year, three-film initiative were the CRB Foundation, Film House and Kodak Canada. This time, Viacom Canada is expected to join the group. Alliance Communications won’t say, but rumor has it the company may be working with the Johnny Mnemonic team again, this time on a feature based on the William Gibson sci-fi novel Neuromancer. Gibson (who also wrote Johnny) is expected to join Johnny executive producers Peter Hoffman and Staffan Ahrenberg. No director is in place. Word is Mike Medavoy’s Phoenix Pictures is in the deal as well.
