Ex-Einsteins set up shop

steve Convery and Clive Desmond, formerly creative partners at The Einstein Bros., and executive producer Lisa Moore, have formed their own music production company under the name Louder Music and Sound Design.

The comparative term, Louder, in part reflects the intent behind the company, which Convery and Desmond say is to provide added value beyond music and sound production.

The core business of the new company is music production, sound design and voice casting and directing, but Louder is offering itself as a full creative consultancy.

‘We have a great many contacts, whether talents, agents or any people who can become involved in potential problem-solving, and we can act as a resource in bringing those people together with clients,’ says Desmond.

A case might come up whereby Louder might learn of an actor who would be just the right solution for a problem, perhaps in a role not usually associated with the actor, and learning of the actor’s availability, Convery and Desmond might then act as a broker for the client.

‘Basically, everybody is open for business, and through our connections we can provide access to all this talent,’ says Convery, referring also to a growing pool of advertising creative people who are opting for freelance arrangements.

Executive producer Moore worked most recently as a voice agent with Noble Talent and before that was a broadcast producer with ad agency Gee Jeffery and Partners. Moore also spent eight years as an executive producer and office manager with the Einsteins and the Air Company.

Others on staff at Louder are:

– Bill Carpenter, a music director also with the Einsteins and Air Company, who has worked on a wide range of commercials such as General Motors, Kraft General Foods and Black’s Cameras;

– Rick Tait, a well-known composer and arranger;

– Carey Gurden, a musician and sound effects editor who will also handle production.

– In addition to this core team, Louder expects to bring in creative talent from outside traditional advertising sources.

The concept, say Convery and Desmond, is to target strategic and creative needs and put the best teams or individuals in place to service those needs.
