CTVglobemedia has promoted veteran news director Richard Gray to head of news for its A-Channel stations, effective immediately.
Gray, who was station manager at A-Channel Vancouver Island, will now also oversee local newsrooms for the group in Barrie, Ottawa, London, Wingham, Windsor and Vancouver Island, in addition to Brandon, MB’s CKX station. Gray will report directly to the CTVglobemedia corporate group.
‘Richard has had a very successful history in small and medium market local news. He is the ideal choice to continue building these strong local news franchises,’ said CTVgm president and CEO Ivan Fecan in a release.
Gray started his TV career as a weekend reporter/anchor at MCTV Timmins in 1991, before moving to Pembroke, ON’s CHRO, then owned by Baton Broadcasting, which became CTV.
Gray will be based out of Vancouver Island.
