Teletoon unveils fall plans

Teletoon has unveiled its plans for fall, putting new and domestic titles including Ricky Sprocket and Johnny Test on air alongside older titles that go all the way back to Bugs Bunny, Fat Albert and Super Friends.

The all-cartoon channel will run U.S. import Johnny Test along with Chop Socky Chooks and the reality send-up Total Drama Island in its after-school Spin Cycle block of programming, which, via online voting, will allow kids to pick which shows air on Fridays. The action series Bakugan, coproduced by Nelvana, and Chaotic will follow every weeknight from 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Older series, including the venerable The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, Super Friends and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, will follow every night, hyping the arrival of the Teletoon Retro spin-off channel, due to launch in October.

Teletoon has also slotted Ricky Sprocket, by Studio B Productions, for Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and will sneak peak the first episode of the toon on Aug. 15 at www.teletoon.com, following a preview for Rogers, Shaw and Telus Mobile TV subscribers on Aug. 1.

Other titles set for the channel include Squirrel Boy, seen south of the border on The Cartoon Network, Shaun the Sheep by Aardman Animations, and Futz! , a series of three-minute shorts by Toronto’s 9 Story Entertainment (Skyland).
