Chabat to attend WFF

Montreal’s World Film Festival will roll out the red carpet for France’s Alain Chabat and Eric Lartigau on Aug. 27, when the actor and director will be on hand for a special screening of their romantic comedy Prête-moi ta main (I Do: How to Get Married and Stay Single).

A spokesperson for WFF confirms the screening is part of a tribute to the pair, though she would not offer any other details.

The film, which was a big hit in France last year with 3.6 million tickets sold, will be released in Quebec via Alliance Atlantis Vivafilm five days after the screening on Aug. 31.

Chabat (Didier, Le gout des autres) stars as Luis Costa, a single man, who convinces a woman to pretend to be his fiancée, in order to fend off attempts by his family to get him married. WFF runs Aug. 23 to Sept. 3.
