Gamers aim for Montreal

Execs from top companies including Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Eidos will be in Montreal in November for the Montreal International Game Summit, which this week unveiled early details for its fourth annual meetup, including an appearance by videogame veteran David Perry.

Perry, currently at work on an online role-playing game for Acclaim and a multiplayer dance title, is among the keynote speakers due to appear at this year’s MIGS, along with panelists including George Borshukov, computer graphics supervisor at EA and WW Studio; Ubisoft creative director Clint Hocking and Julien Merceron, worldwide CTO for Eidos.

Some 50 tutorials, seminars and sessions are scheduled for the two-day event, to be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal Nov. 27 to 28. Organizers have added a business lounge to the setting this year, looking to grease the wheels of dealmaking among publishers, studio execs and other decision-makers.

‘We’ll be hosting more than 1,000 professionals from around the world,’ said Solange Blanchard, organizer and CEO of Alliance numériQC, in a statement.
