Blueprint Entertainment has promoted Elizabeth Madariaga and is sending her to Toronto as its executive director of development.
The new position will see her develop primetime and children’s series for the company, with a focus on the market north of the border. She will also continue to oversee production of the Blueprint cartoon Iggy Arbuckle, which debuted last month on Teletoon.
She will report to Brenda Greenberg, the Toronto-based VP of creative affairs, and SVP of animation and kids programming Frank Saperstein in L.A.
Madariaga has worked in development at the company’s L.A. office since 2002 on titles including Shoebox Zoo, Kenny vs. Spenny and Strip Search. She has also put in time at Sci Fi Channel and at Alliance Atlantis, where she worked with Blueprint cofounder-to-be Noreen Halpern.
‘Elizabeth has been a significant player within Blueprint since the inception of the company,’ said Halpern in a statement. ‘Her experience working in the U.S. and within the company will be invaluable in Toronto as we continue to expand our slate of projects.’
