Four new television service providers have launched Bell Media’s CraveTV, bringing the total number of carriers offering the streaming service to 13.

Hay Communications, Mitchell Seaforth Cable TV, Tuckersmith Communications and Wrightman Telecom subscribers will now be able to access CraveTV. Other providers that currently offer the service include Bell Fibe TV, Bell Satellite TV, Bell Aliant FibreOP TV, Telus Optik TV, Eastlink, Northwestel, Nexicom, Access Communications and Cable Cable.

Bell Media also announced that Eastlink customers can access CraveTV via a set-top box. The new feature was launched earlier this week. Previously, Eastlink offered the service only via the CraveTV app and website. All four of these new providers will offer CraveTV via the service’s website and app, in addition to Bell Satellite TV. All of the other providers offer CraveTV via set-top box, app and website.

In all cases, $4-a-month CraveTV streamer must be bundled with a TV subscription from an authenticated cable provider. In the Let’s Talk TV decisions issued by the CRTC last week, the regulator appears ready to order upstart Canadian streamers CraveTV and Shomi to offer their services across the internet.

“The CRTC is introducing an important change to ensure Canadian video-on-demand services can compete on an equal footing with online video services,” the CRTC said a decision released last Thursday.

“Canadian video-on-demand services will be able to offer exclusive content as long as they are available to all Canadians over the internet,” the regulator said.
