Entertainment One has its first project via its recently signed indie studio deal with The Mark Gordon Company.
Both companies will finance All the Old Knives, which already had Neil Burger (Divergent) attached to direct.
eOne in January announced it had acquired a 51% stake in Los Angeles-based The Mark Gordon Company as part of a $132.6 million deal that sees their studio venture finance and produce network, cable, film and digital content.
The Canadian partner will handle international distribution for All the Old Knives, which Olen Steinhauer is adapting from his novel of the same name.
Nick Wechsler will produce the thriller with Chockstone Pictures partners Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz, along with Chockstone’s Roger Schwartz as a co-producer.
No word on casting, with principal photography to start by the end of the year.
The film is set in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, where two ex-lovers, one CIA spy and one ex-CIA spy, over dinner recall the hijacking of Royal Jordanian Flight 127, which ended in the death of all on board.
The dinner eventually turns on whether the ex-lovers should rekindle a romance or uncover a conspiracy.
eOne will directly distribute the film in Canada, the U.K., Spain, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand.
