Fresh TV turns to live action

Bruce McDonald

Bruce McDonald is working for Fresh TV, directing its first live-action effort My Babysitter’s a Vampire.

McDonald, who was recently in Saskatchewan shooting Hard Core Logo 2, is currently filming the MOW in Toronto and on location in Hamilton, ON.

The family comedy parodies a range of horror movie genres, following a young teen boy whose babysitter is caught between the worlds of the living and the dead. It’s slated to air on Teletoon’s English and French channels in October.

The cast includes Matthew Knight (Flashpoint, A Heartland Christmas), Atticus Mitchell (How to Be Indie), Cameron Kennedy (The Latest Buzz), Ella Jonas Farlinger, Vanessa Morgan Mziray, Joe Dinicol and Kate Todd.

My Babysitter’s a Vampire was created by Fresh’s Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, who exec produce with Brian Irving and George Elliott. Rounding out the team are associate producer Robin McLeod, producer Lynn Mallay, with screenplay by Tim Burns (An American Werewolf in Paris, Crank Yankers).
