Moderator: Jason Anderson, writer, Eye Weekly. Guest speakers include: music industry icon and filmmaker Daniel Lanois (Here Is What Is), filmmaker Ed Gass-Donnelly (This Beautiful City), and musician/recording engineer/producer Dave Mackinnon (This Beautiful City, FemBots).

New this year are informal sessions called Meet With… Sessions offer insight with seasoned professional speakers from all facets of the industry. Topics include: literary deal-making, producer reps, casting agents, how to derive music revenue, financing, and introductions to players in games and interactive content.
Sessions are open to Industry Initiatives and Sales & Industry (with Industry Initiatives upgrade) passholders. The sessions take place at 5th Element Restaurant (1033 Bay Street, via Irwin Avenue entrance).

Returning to the festival for its eighth consecutive year, Telefilm Canada Pitch This! short-lists six final applicants who benefit from the expertise of industry veterans as pitch coaches to help them prepare for the competition. In a live pitch environment, the participants have six minutes to pitch their feature film idea to an audience of more than 250 industry professionals.
This year’s finalists are: Geoff Redknap and Katie Weekley for The Auburn Hills Breakdown; Daniel Shehori and Steven Shehori for The Engagement Pact; Jim Goodall and Paul Lenart for Giantland; Adnan Ahmed for Invisible City; Mona Waserman and Peter Reynolds for Senior Year; and Shelly Hong and Soo-won Lee for Swallow.
This year’s Pitch coaches are: Anne Carey, producer, This is that corporation; Amotz Zakai, VP of production, Echo Lake Productions; Shirley Vercruysse, producer, Burns Film; and Lina Marrone, VP of world sales, Arclight Films.
MATCH CLUB & DOC CORNER – MEET & RELAX

Industry delegates are welcome at Match Club for global networking opportunities in a peer-to-peer online network and a convenient venue during the festival. It is open to more than 1,000 industry professionals over seven days of the festival at 5th Elementt Restaurant (1033 Bay Street).
Match Club also hosts the Doc Corner (within the Match Club at 5th Elementt Restaurant) for networking and holding casual meetings throughout the day. It is open to all documentary industry delegates.
INTERNATIONAL FINANCING FORUM

The Ontario Media Development Corporation’s day-long International Financing Forum is a feature film cofinance event that encourages international and Canadian producers to have brokered meetings and networking opportunities with one another and with international sales agents, distributors, funders, agents and executive producers – critical international financing partners for today’s independent feature films.
