Picture Box Distribution has sold educational TVOKids series Lady Vocab to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). The popular Canadian literacy program for kids aged six to 10 teaches children English word definitions in fun, musical ways. Additional TVOKids titles repped by Picture Box include The Reading Rangers, Big Escape, Math Mystery and Tumbletown Tales. Read more about the deal here.

DHX Media has signed Hong Kong-based VTech as the licensee for interactive electronic toys for its new Teletubbies series. The new VTech products linked to the series are expected to launch to the consumer market in either fall 2015 or winter 2016 in the U.K., with rollouts to follow in core European territories, France, Germany, Benelux, Iberia and Australia and New Zealand. A new, 60-episode series of Teletubbies has been commissioned by the U.K.’s CBeebies with U.K. prodco Darrall Macqueen attached to produce. DHX acquired Teletubbies owner Ragdoll Worldwide from BBC Worldwide in the fall of 2013.
Nelvana
Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has joined forces with Cepia to bring the ZhuZhu Pets to a new generation of kids through a brand-new animated TV series and relaunched toy line. Through the deal, Nelvana Studio is creating a TV show based on the robotic hamsters, while Nelvana Enterprises oversees global merchandising of the brand, along with distribution of the series.
