Corus Entertainment has snagged the format rights for a Canadian version of Come Dine with Me.
The series, to be produced by Toronto’s Proper Television (Canada’s Worst Driver), is set to begin filming this summer for W, looking to air this fall. Created by the U.K.’s ITV Studios, it revolves around five amateur chefs who gun for the title of ultimate dinner party host and a cash prize.
The U.K. original aired on W earlier this year and ‘quickly gained a strong and loyal audience,’ according to a statement from programming VP Joanna Webb.
Casting is underway at Proper.
The format is currently produced in 20 territories, with more than 4,000 episodes in total across 11 languages. The U.K. version continues to run on W on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
