Club illico greenlights exclusive original series

The French-language SVOD service Club illico has greenlit an original series titled Blue Moon that will bow exclusively on the streaming service in 2016.

Blue Moon will be directed by Yves-Christian Fournier and produced by Fabienne Larouche and AETIOS Productions. The series stars well-known Quebec actor Karine Vanasse and tells the story of a woman who takes over her father’s private security firm after he dies in an accident.

The series will be written by Luc Dionne, whose previous directorial credits include the French-language films Monica la mitraille, Aurore and L’enfant prodige. Dionne was also the creator of the television series Omerta.

Club illico was launched in spring 2013 and has generated 50 million views to date. A subscription to the service is $9.99 a month and is available via Videotron’s illico TV channel, online at illico.tv and on iPad and Anroid tablets via the illico app. Club illico is available to all Quebec and Ontario residents regardless if they are an existing Videotron customer.
