Disney XD Canada picks up second season of Gaming Show

DHX Television’s Disney XD Canada channel has greenlit a second season of Gaming Show (In My Parents’ Garage) after season one earned strong ratings in the boys 6-to-12 demo.

Gaming Show bowed in November on Disney XD with a six-episode run, and is currently the network’s number one series for boys aged 6 to 12. The remaining four episodes of the season one will air on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. starting Feb. 8.

The series initially aired in on Sundays at 6 p.m., as a lead-in to the channel’s “Super Charged Sunday” primetime programming block. The strong performance of the series prompted DHX Television to move it into the block to build audience, which increases throughout the day.

The series is produced by Toronto-based Banger Films’ kids division, B-Minors. Production on season two is slated to start in Toronto next month, with the new episodes currently set to air on Disney XD this summer.

Gaming Show stars three young teens who are trying to create a popular YouTube channel devoted to gaming. The series is set a garage belonging to one of the teen’s parents, where the trio shoots field segments to show on their YouTube channel. Gaming Show also features appearances by YouTube, sports, and gaming celebrities, such as the Raptors’ Jonas Valanciunas and Patrick Chan.

Gaming Show is executive produced by B-Minors’ Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen, and was credited by Jesse Shamata.
