Webb, Di Pasquale re-up at Peace Arch

Peace Arch Entertainment has renewed the contracts of top execs Lewin Webb and Mara Di Pasquale, ending a busy week that also saw the Toronto producer/distributor put fresh ink on deals with Distraction, Sony and CBC.

Webb, president and head of production since 2004, will continue to oversee Peace Arch productions, reporting to COO John Flock, while Di Pasquale will stay on as CFO.

Both renewed for one year and are ‘indispensable members of our senior management team,’ said CEO Gary Howsam in a statement on Friday. The company is currently posting the ensemble drama Winged Creatures — starring Kate Beckinsale and Forest Whitaker — and the satire The Deal, with William H. Macy and Meg Ryan.

Earlier in the week, Peace Arch picked up seven genre titles intended for the DVD and broadcast market, including the mob story The Last Hit Man with Joe Mantegna, Time Bomb starring Jake Busey and the Jason Mewes-starring vampire story Twice Shy. Other titles covered in the deal are the thrillers Grindstone Rd., Just Business, Static and the documentary Willard.

Meanwhile, Peace Arch passed distribution duties for its format catalogue to U.K.-based Distraction, and has renewed its rights agreements with Sony and CBC for The Tudors, which recently took home a pair of awards at the Creative Arts Emmys.

Distraction will rep Peace Arch’s reality and weight-loss formats, including The Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp and Love It or Lose It, for international distribution. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group, meanwhile, has extended its hold on the international rights to The Tudors, covering the second season of the historical saga, which is produced by Peace Arch and TM Productions. CBC, which will premiere the first season on Oct. 2, has also extended its pact into the second run.

The Tudors is distributed by Showtime in the U.S. and will be released on DVD in Canada by Peace Arch.
