Digital photo and music provider Shutterstock has a deal to acquire Montreal-based PremiumBeat for $32 million in cash.
PremiumBeat offers music and sound effects for use in film, TV, radio, websites, online videos and DVDs.
The acquisition follows Shutterstock earlier this year launching a Shutterstock Music division to better license content at the intersection of music and video.
PremiumBeat will continue under the leadership of Francois Arbour, co-founder and CEO, who will now lead music licensing globally for Shutterstock.
