The Toronto International Film Festival will be presented with the inaugural Academy Legacy Award, which honours dedication to bringing international attention to Canada talent across television, film or digital media.
The award is being presented in recognition of the festival’s 40th anniversary, and will be presented at the Canada Stars in Awards Season red carpet event in Beverly Hills on Feb. 19.
The event, to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel, is co-hosted by Telefilm Canada, the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
The Academy Legacy Award is being presented as part of the Canadian Screen Awards, the full nominees for which will be announced on Jan. 13.
