• Brian Anthony has been appointed CEO and executive director of the Directors Guild of Canada after a stint as head of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards Foundation. The announcement was made at the DGC awards on Sept. 29.

• Larry Greenberg is the new SVP of acquisitions at Peace Arch Entertainment, coming over after more than a decade of acquisitions with Showtime Networks.

• Ron MacLean signed on for seven more years, inking a multi-year pact with CBC, effective 2007/08. MacLean’s new deal will take him through to 2014 as the co-anchor of Hockey Night in Canada. His controversial cohort Don Cherry, meanwhile, has reportedly signed a new week-to-week contract.

• Sony Ericsson added a pair of new faces to its company, naming Jennifer Bromley as head of marketing for Canada and Ed Hutchinson director of sales and new business development.

• Samantha Esteves is now executive producer at ZeroFractal Animation Studio. She previously worked at Technicolor-Toronto as a commercial post consultant. The Toronto office of ZeroFractal, which also has firms in Bogota and Miami, has up until now specialized in architectural visualization, and is now expanding into animation and interactive content for commercials and TV.
