Jennifer Mesich takes senior post at Don Carmody Productions

jennifer-mesichShort film producer Jennifer Mesich has also worked as an executive assistant to Don Carmody, whose movie credits include Resident Evil: Retribution, Home Again and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Now Carmody has rewarded Mesich by hiring her as director of development and production, film and TV for his production shingle, Don Carmody Productions.

The announcement, made at the Whistler Film Festival where Carmody is receiving a career achievement award, will see Mesich expand the production shingle’s slate with a push for content aimed at female audiences.

Mesich will be based in Toronto and will work on films, scripted and reality TV projects for network, cable and streaming services.

A film graduate from Niagara College and later the Canadian Film Centre producers’ lab, Mesich has produced short films like Hit Men, Rung and Family First. The first feature film she coproduced was Eating Buccaneers, which starred Peter Keleghan, Leah Pinsent, Steven McCarthy and Gordon Pinsent.

Her short films have played at Tribeca, Palm Springs ShortFest, Vancouver, Calgary and Cinefest.
