The kids division at Blueprint Entertainment has signed a deal with educational outfit The Mad Science Group to develop a TV show and a line of products aimed at preteens. John Morayniss and Frank Saperstein will exec produce for Blueprint, with Ariel Shlien and Ron Shlien of Montreal-based Mad Science.
‘Mad Science is a proven global franchise dedicated to empowering young minds with scientific knowledge and the ability to reason,’ said Saperstein in a statement. The company is best known for putting on live shows for grade schools, camps and theme parks. It recently set up a permanent exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center and an after-school program with NASA. It has franchises in 29 countries, including India, the U.K. and Saudi Arabia.
No further details on the show were revealed. Blueprint — which is working to expand its presence in the kids market — will handle worldwide sales through its Oasis International, while Mad Science will manage products and licensing.
