Corus sets a deadline

Corus Entertainment is changing the application process for its Made with Pay Fund, and says it will switch to a deadline-driven system in the new year to ‘better align the submission process with other private-sector funding agencies.’

The company did not release details except to say that the first deadline will be Jan. 9. Other deadlines, eligibility guidelines and related paperwork are due to be released in the first week of December.

The fund is managed by Corus funding and policy chief Susan Makela, in tandem with the Movie Central programmers and Erica Benson, who was last week promoted to VP of programming for MC and Scream. The fund — previously the Corus script and concept development fund — has put more than $6.4 million into feature-length films and series since it was relaunched in 2003.
