Equinoxe signs with Kimmel

Equinoxe Films has signed a two-year deal with New York-based Kimmel International that will see the Montreal shop distribute all KI titles in all media, in English and French Canada. The deal also covers productions by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

Among the titles that fall under the agreement are: the romantic-comedy Management, starring Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn; All God’s Children Can Dance, starring Joan Chen; and Ye Olde Times, a comedy set at a renaissance fair, starring Carey Elwes, David Arquette and Jack Black.

The deal follows a three-title pact signed by the companies in the fall, which covered titles including the recent release Lars and the Real Girl.

The new deal was negotiated by Marie-Claude Poulin of Equinoxe, and by Kimmel president Mark Lindsay and EVP of business affairs Jill Silfen.

‘[COO and SVP] Mike Mosca, Marie-Claude and the entire Equinoxe Films team have built a company we are excited to be in business with’ said Lindsay in a statement. ‘We look forward to working exclusively with them and are confident in their ability to maximize our films’ revenues in Canada.’
