Ragdoll, DHX to produce Twirlywoos for CBeebies

DHX Media has acquired the worldwide distribution and merchandising rights to Twirlywoos, a new U.K. preschool series commissioned by U.K. broadcaster CBeebies.

Ragdoll Productions will produce Twirlywoos, comprising 50 11-minute episodes, in association with DHX Media, which will also handle global distribution, merchandising, brand management and marketing.

DHX Media last year acquired Teletubbies owner Ragdoll Worldwide from BBC Worldwide and an investor group led by founder Anne Wood for $27.7 million.

Ragdoll was originally a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Wood’s production firm.

The kids series, devised and executive produced by Wood, portrays four bird-like characters always looking to learn something new about the world.
