Film marketing expert Grace Cianciotta succumbed to breast cancer on Jan. 7 at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. She was 43.

Since August, Cianciotta had been working for the newly minted Maximum Films International and Maximum Film Distribution, working with the same team with which she started her career in the ’80s and ’90s, while at Alliance Communications.

At both Alliance and Maximum Films, she often worked with her father and mentor, Tony Cianciotta.

Over the years, Grace worked with dozens of Canadian filmmakers, including Denys Arcand, Atom Egoyan, David Cronenberg and Jeremy Podeswa.

She is survived by her father, his partner Anna Maria Muccilli, her brother Anthony and his wife Arlene, her niece Olivia and countless friends. She was predeceased by her mother.
