The mega-X-Men franchise will return to Montreal to shoot its next installment.
Michel Trudel, co-owner of La Cité Du Cinéma studios in Montreal, confirmed to Playback that the franchise will return to his studio in 2015.
The last X-Men movie, X-Men: Days of Future past, also shot at the Montreal studio, at an overall estimated budget of over $200 million. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has grossed over $230 million to date.
X-Men: Apocalypse is slated for a 2016 release. It will shoot across seven soundstages at the La Cite complex, Trudel said.
