Durham, Swingtown set for Global

Global has set airdates for Durham County and Swingtown, and will debut the series in May, along with a run of family movie nights.

Swingtown, the ’70s show about open marriages, will premiere on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET, starting May 29, in simulcast with CBS. Originally unveiled during last year’s upfronts, the show comes from producer/writer Mike Kelley (Jericho, The O.C. ) and stars Molly Parker (Six Feet Under, Deadwood), Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest) and Grant Show (Melrose Place).

Durham County — a homegrown crime drama seen previously on The Movie Network and Movie Central — will run Mondays at 10 p.m. ET, starting May 19. It stars Hugh Dillon (Trailer Park Boys: The Movie) as a detective on the hunt for a serial killer in the suburbs outside of Toronto. Justin Louis (Saw IV) and Helene Joy (ReGenesis) also star. The series is a copro by Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Films, and a second season is scheduled to shoot this fall, pending final commitments from the broadcasters.

Global also plans to lead up to the May 22 release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by airing the previous flicks in the blockbuster franchise on Wednesday nights. The Indy trilogy will begin rolling out on May 7 with Raiders of the Lost Ark, followed by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Friday nights will also see family movies on Global, starting April 25 with Madagascar, followed by Shark Tale, Robots, Cat in the Hat and Ice Age.
