Entertainment One Films U.S.

Entertainment One Films U.S. has picked up the North American rights to Ernst Gossner’s The Silent Mountain, and the U.S. rights to Christian Sesma’s The Night Crew. eOne will handle the release of the two films through all home entertainment platforms, including VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.

U.S.-based Premiere Entertainment Group will handle the worldwide distribution of both the films at the upcoming international market at Cannes.

Double Dutch

Toronto-based Double Dutch has picked up the international sales rights to The Scarehouse, a horror feature film from D Films and A Named Viking Entertainment. Double Dutch will launch the international sales for The Scarehouse this May at the Cannes film market. The Scarehouse was written, directed and produced by Gavin Michael Booth, and stars Kimberly Sue-Murray and Sara Booth, who also serves as a producer. Mike Carriere is also a producer on The Scarehouse.  The film will be released theatrically in Canada later this year. Universal is handing the U.S. digital sales of The Scarehouse.

Tricon Films & Television

Tricon Films & Television has sold a slew of comedies into Australia and Europe, including The Spoils of Babylon (6 x 30 minutes) to C More in Scandinavia, France’s Studio Canal, Fox UK and ABC2 in Australia. The DVD and EST rights for the series  in Australia and New Zealand were sold to Beyond Entertainment.  iTunes in Canada and the UK also picked up the EST rights to The Spoils of Babylon.

Maron (23 x 30 minutes) was picked up by Australia’s ABC2, Fox UK, iTunes Canada and UK (EST), Beyond Entertainment (EST/DVD) and Inflight Productions for Thai Airways and Air New Zealand.  The Birthday Boys (20 x 30 minutes) was purchased by Australia’s SBS Two, iTunes Canada and Beyond Digital (DVD/EST). Comedy Bang! Bang! (90 x 30 minutes) was picked up by AV Jet, while a third broadcast window for the first four seasons of drama Sanctuary (59 x 60 minutes) was sold to NBCU/Syfy Australia. Sanctuary was also acquired by Pyramid Entertainment for Saudi Arabia and Russian Report. NBCU/Syfy in Benelux also renewed its broadcast rights to Sanctuary. Finally, Puls TV Poland brought Forbidden Science (13 x 60 minutes) and InSecurity (23 x 30 minutes).
