Canadian broadcaster Shaw Media and Montreal-based prodco Muse Entertainment have begun production on High Arctic-set doc March to the Pole, which is set to air on History Canada later this year.
The doc follows four recovering Canadian veterans as they embark on the largest expedition to the Magnetic North Pole in history. The group – which includes some of the country’s business leaders as well as Canadian women’s hockey Olympians Caroline Ouellette and Geneviève Lacasse – began the two-week, 100-kilometer trek on Tuesday (April 22).
“At History, we honor Canadian veterans with original documentaries, telling the first-hand stories of the men and women who have experienced war,” said Barbara Williams, SVP of content for Shaw Media in a statement.
March to the Pole is produced by Muse Entertainment and Canadian Adventure Productions, in association with Shaw Media and History Canada. Producers include Muse’s Jesse Prupas and Canadian Adventure’s Ben Webster, who is also leading the production crew on the trek.
