NSI names latest online short film fest winners

The National Screen Institute has released the name of the winners from its latest round of applicants to the NSI Online Short Film Festival competition.

The Sandwich Nazi, directed by Lewis Bennett, took home the A&E Short Filmmakers Award for best film, a prize worth $1,250. The Path, from Emily Jenkins, won the $2,000 Shaw Media Fearless Female Director award, given to the  best film from a female director. Finally, The Last Supper, directed by Jonathan Eagan, won the $750 Bite Comedy Award for the best comedy film.

The online film festival runs year-round, and gives out awards four times a year.

The independent jury for this round of the competition included James Mc Nally, founder and director of programming for the quarterly short film series Shorts That Are Not Pants, filmmaker and programmer Kathleen Mullen and writer/director Lindsay MacKay,  who won the last round of the NSI Online Short Film Festival competition with her film Clear Blue. The short film has played in over 25 film festivals, including SXSW and the Palm Springs Short Film Fest.
