• Peace Arch’s The Tudors has been renewed for a third season by Showtime and production on new episodes is scheduled to begin in June in Ireland, going to air in 2009. The series airs domestically on CBC.

• Portfolio Entertainment was busy at MIPTV, closing a trio of deals for Carl Squared. France’s Canal+ picked up the pay-TV rights for all four seasons (65 x 30) of the animated comedy, which airs domestically on Teletoon. Sorpresa! picked up the first two seasons (39 x 30) to air to its U.S. Hispanic audience, while SW Television/Channel Four in Finland will air the series to Scandinavians.

• Oasis International has inked deals for ReGenesis, Kenny vs. Spenny and Murder on her Mind. The Murder MOW went to Radio Television Espanola in Spain and was also among the titles secured in an African distribution package that featured 70-plus hours of content. ReGenesis is headed to Spain and Latin America. SAV picked up the video distribution rights for all four seasons (52 x 60), while Fox Latin America took season four.

• Toronto-based Victory Man Productions has sold its Sidekick to Lightyear Entertainment, which will release the low-budget superhero feature on DVD in June through Warner Home Video. Shoreline Entertainment has also secured home video and television sales in Russia, India, Israel and the Middle East.

• Studio B Productions has sold Martha Speaks to TVOntario, Knowledge Network and SCN, all of which will begin airing the 40 half-hour episodes of the series this fall. The series is also scheduled to launch in the U.S. on PBS Kids.
