VisionTV and two of its sister stations are preparing to air a new half-hour talk show out of Vancouver, where CHNU will next week premiere The Daily with Mark & Laura-Lynn.
Hosted by former BC Lions defensive back Mark Washington and local broadcaster/speaker Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, the show will focus on daily themes ranging from business and world events to family and wellness, and will feature in-studio interviews as well as location segments. It bows on Monday, airing weekdays at 6 a.m., 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. PT.
Beginning June 30, the series will also run nationally on Vision and in Winnipeg on CIIT. The Vancouver and Winnipeg stations were purchased in April by Christian Channel, a division of Toronto-based S-VOX, which owns Vision. They were previously owned by Rogers.
‘S-VOX, working with talented partners such as Trillennium Media Group, is committed to developing local programming and nurturing local talent,’ said COO and programming SVP Mark Prasuhn, in a release. The show is produced by Trillennium and S-VOX.
Guests lined up so far include Da Vinci’s Inquest creator Chris Haddock, B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell and Vancouver broadcast celeb Bill Good.
