The cameras are rolling on the fourth season of Blackstone from Prairie Dog Film + Television.

The APTN series about a fictional Blackstone First Nation community will shoot another eight episodes in and around Edmonton through May 2014, ahead of a fall 2014 return.

Blackstone, written, directed and executive produced by creator Ron E. Scott, this season will deal with the controversial themes of human trafficking, the prison system, political corruption and oil resource development.

The fourth season has financing from APTN, the Canada Media Fund, the Alberta Media Fund, the Rogers Cable Network Fund and federal tax credits.

Jesse Szymanski is producing Blackstone, with Damon Vignale on board as producer and writer.

The series also airs in New Zealand on Maori Television, in Australia on SBS/NITV, and is distributed internationally by PPI Releasing.
