Team takes shape at Seville, Maximum

The marketing team behind Seville Pictures and Maximum Film Distribution took shape on Wednesday, with the director titles going to Paul Rotz, Tamara Shannon and Barb Matheson.

Rotz, now director of theatrical sales for Canada, will handle Maximum and Seville product across the country, while Shannon, director of marketing and promotions, will hype the companies’ theatrical slate and organize special events. As previously reported in Playback, Matheson is now director of publicity and communications.

Matheson, like MFD boss Bryan Gliserman, was, until recently, at Odeon Films, and was the communications chief at CHUM, prior to that company’s evaporation. Rotz also hails from Odeon and before that was with Cineplex Odeon.

Seville and MFD formed a joint venture in March, consolidating their marketing, publicity, promotions, sales, and other departments across the country. Releases due shortly from the companies include the documentary sequel Global Metal, Vincenzo Natali’s Splice and the Infinity Features-produced The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, starring the late Heath Ledger.
