CTV has set a premiere date of June 1 for Million Dollar Password, the new celeb-powered CBS game show hosted by — who else? — Regis Philbin. The show will hit the 8 p.m. timeslot this Sunday. The net’s summer sked announcements were made earlier this month, but the show had yet to land a fixed slot.
The series, which is a makeover of the classic game show Password (1961-75), will see contestants team up with celebrities for the chance to earn up to $1 million. Celebs on the bill include Rosie O’Donnell, Betty White (who turned 86 this year), Rachael Ray and Neil Patrick Harris.
One player from the team is told secret passwords and can use only one-word clues as hints to help their teammate guess the words. If the player and the celebrity work together successfully, they could uncover the Million Dollar Password.
