ARRI grabs Deluxe prize

International film equipment supplier ARRI will be recognized with the Deluxe Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, organizers at the Banff World Television Festival announced this week.

The German company will be honored for technical innovation at the fest’s awards ceremony on June 9.

Since 1917, ARRI has been a film and TV industry leader in engineering, design, production, visual effects, post-production and equipment rental. Products bearing the ARRI name include camera devices for 16mm, 35mm and 65mm film, high-definition video and digital imaging systems such as the Arriscan, Arrilaser and Arricube.

‘ARRI products can be found on many sets and post facilities throughout the world,’ commented Deluxe VP Nick Iannelli in a release. ‘With over a 90-year history of providing technical excellence to film and television productions, ARRI is most deserving of this award.’

ARRI managing director Franz Kraus will be on hand to receive the award, and says the company is ‘honored.’

‘It is a great affirmation for us to see that the many tools we create for industry professionals receive such respect,’ he said.

Past recipients of the Deluxe award include da Vinci Systems, Panasonic, Steadicam and Avid Technology Worldwide.
