Noreen Golfman, Barbara Doran and Linda Wood received tributes for their contribution to Canadian film at the fourth annual Wave Awards in Halifax on Sunday evening.

Golfman helped found the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival, is vice-chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Film Development Corporation, and founded the MUN Cinema Series.

Wood is the director of business & legal affairs at Film & Creative Industries Nova Scotia, and Doran, a veteran director and producer, has among her credits the CBC mini-series Random Passage, Morag Loves Company and The Grand Seduction.

The three-day conference included a conversation with the Bomb Girls producer/director team of Adrienne Mitchell and Janis Lundman.
