CarpeDiem goes forward with manga copro

Montreal prodco CarpeDiem Film & TV and TV-Loonland, out of Germany and the U.K., have begun production on the new animated series My Life Me.

Kids broadcaster Teletoon and French broadcasters France 2 and Canal J are backing the 52 x 11-minute series copro, which follows four characters who navigate tween life.

TV-Loonland will handle all international distribution rights in all media, including licensing and merchandising for the toon, targeting kids eight to 12. The series, to be delivered in 2009, employs a manga aesthetic that the producers are looking to translate into merchandising opportunities.
