Shaw Media’s Slice network and TVGN stateside have set a spring premiere date for Unusually Thicke, the Alan Thicke faux-reality series from Toronto’s Peacock Alley Entertainment.
First announced at the Shaw Media upfronts last spring, the series includes appearances by Bob Saget, David Hasselhoff, John Stamos, Jason Seaver and Danny Tanner.
The reality follows the Growing Pains star, his wife Tanya, and 16-year-old son Carter; pop star Robin Thicke will also make guest appearances.
Slice will debut Unusually Thicke on Wednesday, April 16 at 10 p.m. in a simulcast with TV Guide Network (TVGN).
TVGN is a co-venture between Lionsgate and CBS and is broadcast in over 80 million homes in the U.S.
In a statement announcing the premiere, Peacock Alley VP distribution Craig McGillivray said the show’s “celebrity-driven sitcom/reality hybrid format” makes it a good fit for international markets.
Recently, Thicke voiced the character of Richard Wheaton on 9 Story’s animated comedy Fugget About It and Lumanity’s office comedy Bank$tas. He is represented by Integral Artists.
